New Capabilities in ENC R&D Aim to Accelerate Automotive Innovation

 

ENC R&D established 3 additional test capabilities in 2020 beyond current various types of test competency to support innovation in automotive market. 

HUD (Head-up Display) test platform is a collaboration between ENC R&D and CRL to combine a multifunctional vibration platform and laser technology. The new test system will help to benchmark bearings solutions with existing ones in a HUD unit in terms of NVH performance and lifetime to accelerate co-development with customers for high end wind shield HUD.

High speed rotary test platform is a versatile system to evaluate sealing performance in critical applications e.g. transmission in powertrain for traditional combustion engine and EV. With max speed of 20K rpm and wide temperature range from -40~120C the new system will provide solid and unique test data for researchers to develop innovative sealing solutions to automotive market.

Swivel torque tester is dedicated to automotive interior market for future development of swivel seat with the evolution of future cockpit in vehicles. ENC R&D together with commercial teams in Shanghai is collaborating with our key customers to co-develop sliding solutions using Norglide?/Springlide? product for next generation swivel seat and the test system provide strong support to new product development and concept validation. 
 

New Sliding Solution for Machine Tools Market

 

ENC R&D team worked with one of the world’s leading companies in machine tools market to successfully develop a new sliding solution for their machine centers with technology of PTFE based compound tape and bonding solutions. The new product package has been released in PPL Minhang plant and helped Seals business win 250KE orders in China.

Back to 2019 the customer was facing bonding issues on their machine centers. The business team took the opportunity to approach to the customer and helped to build collaboration between customer technical/quality team and ENC R&D team. The key technical people from customer visited SGR Shanghai in 2019 and they were impressed by our competencies and capabilities in technology innovation as well as application based development capabilities. During development of the bonding solutions R&D team kept close connection with the customer and got active support from them to get customized components needed for the performance and aging test. The customer intimacy shows critical effects which makes the co-development smooth and successful.

New Sealing Solution for Air Scroll Compressor Market

 

ENC R&D launched a tip seal product made with new PTFE compounds Rulon 1835 to help grow business of scroll compressor for EV market. 
Tip seal is a critical sealing solution which ensures smooth operation of the scrolls as well as high efficiency of air output and at the same time can endure severe operating conditions e.g. high temperature, high pressure and high surface roughness. Based on application conditions and specific customer requirement ENC R&D team worked with design engineering and process team to develop a specific novel PTFE compound which is highly wear resistant under high temperature and high pressure conditions. 

 

EV battery application lab continues growth in SGR Shanghai CMP lab and support Tape Solutions global spec-in project.  The lab has built up mechanical, aging, electrical and thermal test capability, and is directing to more system test with battery cell, module and pack. Provided DV test, material and application studies, hosted important customer visits and technical communications from battery maker, automotive OEMs and academic institutes.

New generation of compression pad for EV battery was launched. Commercial name PF100. With end users' demands on higher EV battery energy density,  the space reserved for compression pad between cells are limited. The new product can better serve the requirement on broader compression range between cells and flatter compression force across the range.

Extractables competency developed within life sciences and CRL, has been delivering plenty of test methods, and tons of data and reports to bioprocess solution business. These test methods are targeting for identifying and quantifying ppm level of organics and inorganics. The high quality reports give more and more positive impact on product promotion and business growth. 
The strong collaboration among life sciences plants, quality, business teams and R&D, allow us to be more and more competitive for our products, and extractables capabilities when comparing to our competitors, and allow us to give more and more technical impact on global industry standards.

電動汽車電池應用實驗室建立

復合材料部門發起的電動汽車電池應用實驗室在圣戈班研發(上海)研發中心成立。該應用實驗室旨在進一步加強客戶親密度,通過高質量的測試表征服務,加強業務對于圣戈班產品及客戶應用方面的了解,以更好的應對亞洲電動汽車及電動汽車電池市場的飛快發展。實驗室已經建立起包括力學,老化, 電學和熱學相關的測試能力,將來將增添更多的電芯、模組和電池包的相關測試能力。

低揮發泡棉產品量產

2019年第一季度,CS90在閔行工廠量產。 CS90是一款低VOC,低氣味的軟質聚氨酯泡棉,具有優異的防水密封性性能和高溫條件下極低的的永久變形。 用于汽車內飾元件的密封以及襯墊使用。

V Power新品發布

由上海研發中心,SA上海工廠共同合作開發的陶瓷cBN新產品V Power于今年9月份正式發布。該產品主要用于汽車發動機、變速箱、傳動和轉向系統等精密部件的磨削。該產品基于世界領先的Winter技術平臺,是第一代100%本地開發和生產的陶瓷cBN新品,將給終端客戶帶來如下好處:

  1. 良好的磨削性能,可以滿足客戶的多種磨削技術要求(工件加工精度,加工效率,以及磨削壽命);
  2. 更好的性價比(~25%);
  3. 更快的響應速度和本地技術支持;
  4. 縮短交期;
  5. 確保產品性能穩定性和一致性。

V Power產品已經成功通過多家中國汽車以及汽車零部件廠客戶測試,并在中國市場正常生產銷售。 同時,該產品也正在東南亞以及印度等市場逐步推廣。我們期待V Power新產品取得極大的成功,為SA業務在APAC汽車市場帶來更多增長。

諾頓藍火超薄樹脂切割片成功上市

超薄樹脂切割片適用于金屬薄壁管材,板材結構件的手動切割。在門窗,車架,管道,設備外殼,廚具,電器臺面的加工制造或金屬部件的維修維護中有廣泛應用。超薄樹脂切割片也是圣戈班磨料磨具上海工廠最重要的產品線。

2017年,由上海TW研發團隊開發的2xQuantum系列高性能超薄樹脂切割片成功上市,產品成功銷往亞太及美洲等多個市場,獲得了內外部客戶的一致認可?;谄涑錾男詢r比,該技術平臺已經成功輸出到東南亞,澳大利亞,歐洲及印度TW工廠。

為滿足客戶對樹脂切割片性能持續提升的要求,TW上海研發團隊歷經一年半,開發出了新一代超薄樹脂切割片BIA平臺。得益于新一代結合劑的設計及生產工藝的優化,BIA相比于2xQuantum,在保持成本不變的基礎上提升了50%的性能。此次諾頓藍火還結合了擁有專利保護的新一代抗老化技術,進一步提升了產品性能及用戶體驗。新產品在多個客戶測試均取得了成功,獲得了客戶的積極評價。 

6月28日,新一代高性能諾頓藍火超薄樹脂切割片在亞洲市場正式發布,成功上市!這是圣戈班磨料磨具通過持續創新,不斷為客戶創造價值,與客戶共同成長的生動體現。

蝸輪蝸桿磨,由于其生產率高,在我國越來越普遍地用于生產高精度齒輪。為了抓住這一市場趨勢,圣戈班上海研發團隊致力于開發這種應用的新磨料。

新產品在中國上市后,深受客戶歡迎。2020年8月,諾頓Xtrimium蝸輪蝸桿磨技術,獲得榮格技術創新獎,這是當年唯一獲得該獎項的磨料磨具技術。新產品的性能比以前產品性能提高約60%,可以幫助生產商明顯降低總磨削成本。由于其卓越的性能,該新產品在2020年為業務增長做出了巨大貢獻。
